Cancell, Cantron or Procell and Taxol
Cancell, now sold as Cantron or Procell
History
Cancell was introduced by James V. Sheridan, a biochemist who named the
formula Entelev and gave it free to cancer patients.
Entelev is the name of the original
formula. James V. Sheridan, a chemist and
researcher from Michigan., developed the concept for his formulation in 1936.
He conducted animal studies in the late 40's, attempted clinical trials in the
50's while working for the Michigan Cancer Institute, and in the early 60's, he
conducted further research while working with Battelle Laboratories (the testing
center for the National Cancer Institute). Between 1974 and 1983 Mr. Sheridan
gave the formula away at no charge to over one thousand people. He always
refused financial compensation for Cancell, saying it was a gift from God and
should be distributed to anyone needing it.
Sheridan gave his formula to Don Wilson in 1983 Shortly thereafter, in May
of 1983, the FDA issued Sheridan with a cease and desist order to stop him from
distributing Entelev. Sheridan had made medical claims for his product, which
he was not allowed to do. Sheridan and Wilson teamed up with Jerome Godin of
Medical Research Products, and in 1984 the product was re-released under the
name Cantron. The company was affiliated with two chemists named Orz Feather
and Ed Sopcak, who refined the manufacturing process. Sopcak started making a
small amount of the formula on his own in 1985 under the name Cancell and gave
it away for free to patients.
The original *Cancell was based on the dark liquid formulation of James
Sheridan. Cancell" is a registered Trademark of
Mary Sahs and Susan Sopcak, which was filed in May of 2001 I n 1991-1992
after almost 8 years of manufacturing and donating an estimated 30,000 bottles
of Cancell, Mr. Sopcak changed the formula to produce a clear liquid, which he
referred to as Clear Cancell. Later the clear product became known as Quantrol,
while the original, dark formula became known as Dark *Cancell. The change in
coloration was due to a lower quantity of cyclopentene. Both the new and old
formulas worked well, according to patients, but Godin later changed the formula
to re-include the cyclopentene, since he believed it had important properties.
Neither Cancell or Quantrol are presently being distributed anywhere in the
world as they are subject to a federal permanent injunction.
Cantron is still being sold by Medical
Research Products, and has not yet been targeted by the FDA as it is offered
only as a dietary supplement, specifically for its electrolyte and antioxidant
properties as well as for its role in the cellular respiration system.
Method of Action
Cantron works by reducing the ATP energy (adenosine triphosphate) in each
cell. Cells have an electrical potential affecting how the cell processes energy
producing substances mostly blood sugar and oxygen from our blood supply. By
reducing this voltage level from 70 to 110 mv to approximatley the 50 mv region,
normal cells can still function. However, cancer and viral cells cannot process
energy at this low voltage level and start to starve. The process of starving
cancer cells is a slower process than poisoning which is why this product works
more slowly than the direct cellular toxins used in chemotherapy.
Clinical Tests
In a two days test run by the NCI there was a dramatic reduction in the
weight of tumor cells but only a small number of dead cells. Presumably, if the
test had continued longer, the shrunken cells would have starved to death.
However, the NCI test for cancer therapy agents is designed specifically for
fast acting chemotherapy drugs which kill tumor cells immediately. Slow acting
Cancell reduced the mass of half of the 60 tumors tested by 80% or more in just
two days. Such results are spectacular, but in their summary NCI reported
"negative results" to describe the test despite the fact that tumor weight data
takes up 8 of the 14 columns on the NCI test data sheets. In fact, it
performed better than Taxol, the recognized "gold standard chemotherapeutic
agent.
The table below shows the test result of perillyl alcohol (an inactive
compound used as a control substance), taxol and cancell. The figures in the
table correspond to tumor cell mass reduction.

Perillyl and Taxol were tested on two other cancer panels that Cancell
was not tested against so these panels were not included in the table.
- Perillyl alcohol, 641066-T/2,which was judged inactive by NCI
-
Taxol, 125973-L/19,a popular chemotherapeutic agent NCI judged to be
active
- Cancell, 637907-L/1
