Cancer hides

A small number of cancer cells escape from chemotherapy by hiding out in the thymus, the organ where immune cells mature.

One of the reasons cancer cells are hard to kill is because not all cancer cells are killed by Chemo, it seems some survive.

So those cells that survive hide in the Thymus.

While in the Thymus the thymus protects them as if they were Thymus cells.

The thymus covers them with a component that blocks pro-survival signals.

So now the trick is to interfere with this protective component.

Current cancer therapies fail to target this survival response," study leader Michael Hemann, an assistant professor of biology, said in an MIT news release.

While he and his colleagues found that cancer cells seek refuge in the thymus, they believe there may be other places in the body, such as bone marrow, where cancer cells are protected from chemotherapy.

One possible remedy that already exists is Chlorella which opens up the cancer cells and makes them more likely to be killed, all of them.

Chlorella is a one-cell blue-green alga that is highly nutritive as a food and also stimulates the immune system. It increases macrophage activity and has shown antitumor effects.

It is also slightly alkaline, increasing the ability of carrying more oxygen to the cancerous tissues. Remember, Oxygen kills cancer cells.
